From the West Village to a Welsh Village...

For about the next 6 weeks or so, I will be posting from Wales, United Kingdom.
I am here, spending time with a handsome bloke called Alun.
We met in NYC nearly 4 years ago...(crazy, right?)

I am in the country...where the only sounds are from the TV, the cows and the neighbors barking dog. The cows are loud, especially in the evening. I kind of like the cows.
I am in the country...where you have to drive, everywhere. Spending the last few years in Manhattan ..and generally just liking to walk, this is an adjustment.

In the village, Llanpumsaint, there is a pub, a hair salon (which is NEVER open), and a small market. It is about 1.5 miles down the road...I've walked it several times. Its a lovely walk..green and hilly. I consider it part of my workout.

On the walk I see pigs, sheep, cows, horses...I've even seen a donkey! I now would like a pet donkey. He is very cute. Or she. I have a habit of making all animals 'hes.'

I arrived to Britain on Monday 2 August. I flew straight into London (first class, thanks Dad) ..and took the Heathrow Express train to the London Paddington Station and then jumped on the train to South Wales.
To Swansea, Wales it is about a 3 hour journey. But the train is relaxing and easy to enjoy.

I was welcomed to Swansea by Aluns Mom, Viv, and his youngest sister Megan.

Its been about 4 full days here...and I am settling in nicely.
More than anything I am relaxed, very very very relaxed.

I will continue posting each day starting Monday...and I will then add pictures to each post. The pictures will be delightful.

Have a good weekend xx.
